The XCB util module provides a number of libraries which sit on top of libxcb, the core X protocol library, and some of the extension libraries. These experimental libraries provide convenience functions and interfaces which make the raw X protocol more usable. Some of the libraries also provide client-side code which is not strictly part of the X protocol but which has traditionally been provided by Xlib.

The XCB util-errors module provides a utility library that gives human readable names to error codes, event codes, and also to major and minor numbers.

xwayland-run contains a set of small utilities revolving around running Xwayland and various Wayland compositor headless, namely:

• xwayland-run: Spawn X11 client within its own dedicated Xwayland rootful instance.

• wlheadless-run: Run Wayland client on a set of supported Wayland headless compositors.

• xwfb-run: Combination of above two tools to be used as a direct replacement for xvfb-run specifically.

Xaw is the X Athena Widget Set based on the X Toolkit Intrinsics (Xt) Library.

Xorg misc-misc fixed fonts.

Xorg font encoding files.

Cygwin/X rootless window management extension. WindowsWM is a simple library designed to interface with the Windows-WM extension. This extension allows X window managers to better interact with the Cygwin XWin server when running X11 in a rootless mode.

Xmag displays and captures a magnified snapshot of a portion of an X11 screen.

Xorg misc-cyrillic fonts.

XLsAtoms is used to list the interned atoms defined on X server.

xcur2png is a program decomposes an X cursor into a set of PNG images and a configuration file reusable by xcursorgen.

xf86-input-evdev is a generic input driver for the Xorg X server. This driver supports all input devices that the kernel knows about, including most mice, keyboards, tablets and touchscreens.

XRDB is used to get or set the contents of the RESOURCE_MANAGER property on the root window of screen 0, or the SCREEN_RESOURCES property on the root window of any or all screens, or everything combined. You would normally run this program from your X startup file.

libXfont provides the core of the legacy X11 font system, handling the index files (fonts.dir, fonts.alias, fonts.scale), the various font file formats, and rasterizing them. It is used by the X servers, the X Font Server (xfs), and some font utilities (bdftopcf for instance), but should not be used by normal X11 clients. X11 clients access fonts via either the new API's in libXft, or the legacy API's in libX11.

xf86-video-r128 is a video driver for the Xorg X server. This driver is intended for ATI Rage 128 based cards.

This package provides a set of autoconf macros used by the configure.ac scripts in other Xorg modular packages, and is needed to generate new versions of their configure scripts with autoconf.

X11::Protocol::Other contains window manager related functions for use by client programs, as per the ICCCM (Inter-Client Communication Conventions Manual) and some of the EWMH (Extended Window Manager Hints).

Keynav makes your keyboard a fast mouse cursor mover. You can move the cursor to any point on the screen with a few key strokes. It also simulates mouse click. You can do everything mouse can do with a keyboard.

xf86-video-fbdev is a video driver for the Xorg X server for framebuffer device.

Makedepend is an utility for creating dependencies in makefiles.

xlsfonts lists fonts available from an X server via the X11 core protocol.

libXtst provides the Xlib-based client API for the XTEST & RECORD extensions.

The XTEST extension is a minimal set of client and server extensions required to completely test the X11 server with no user intervention. This extension is not intended to support general journaling and playback of user actions.

The RECORD extension supports the recording and reporting of all core X protocol and arbitrary X extension protocol.

This package provides a common set of SGML entities and XML/CSS style sheets used in building/formatting the documentation provided in other Xorg packages. It's typically only needed by people building from source who want to produce formatted documentation from their builds, or those who have installed the HTML version of the documentation, which refers to the included common xorg.css stylesheet.

libxcb provides an interface to the X Window System protocol, which replaces the current Xlib interface. It has several advantages over Xlib, including:

- size: small, simple library, and lower memory footprint;

- latency hiding: batch several requests and wait for the replies later;

- direct protocol access: interface and protocol correspond exactly;

- proven thread support: transparently access XCB from multiple threads;

- easy extension implementation: interfaces auto-generated from XML-XCB.

xf86-input-keyboard is a keyboard input driver for the Xorg X server.
