MangoWM is a modern, lightweight, high-performance Wayland compositor built on dwl — crafted for speed, flexibility, and a customizable desktop experience.

wlroots is a set of pluggable, composable, unopinionated modules for building a Wayland compositor.

This StumpWM module can take screenshots and store them as PNG files.

JWM is a light-weight window manager for the X11 Window System. it is written in C and uses only Xlib at a minimum. Because of its small footprint, it makes a good window manager for older computers and less powerful systems, such as the Raspberry Pi, though it is perfectly capable of running on modern systems.

Fluxbox is a window manager. It is light on resources and easy to handle yet full of features to make an easy and fast desktop experience.

IceWM is a window manager for the X Window System. The goal of IceWM is speed, simplicity, and not getting in the user’s way. It comes with a taskbar with pager, global and per-window keybindings and a dynamic menu system. Application windows can be managed by keyboard and mouse. Windows can be iconified to the taskbar, to the tray, to the desktop or be made hidden. They are controllable by a quick switch window (Alt+Tab) and in a window list. A handful of configurable focus models are menu-selectable. Setups with multiple monitors are supported by RandR and Xinerama. IceWM is very configurable, themeable and well documented. It includes an optional external background wallpaper manager with transparency support, a simple session manager and a system tray.

dwl is a compact, hackable compositor for Wayland based on wlroots. It is intended to fill the same space in the Wayland world that dwm does in X11, primarily in terms of philosophy, and secondarily in terms of functionality. Like dwm, dwl is easy to understand and hack on, due to a limited size and a few external dependencies. It is configurable via config.h.

This package provides a Wayland kiosk, which runs a single, maximized application.

Waybar is a highly customisable Wayland bar for Sway and Wlroots based compositors.

Wawa is a minimal, hackable, and distinctive Wayland wallpaper setter utilizing stb_image that targets wlr-layer-shell supported compositors, featuring tiling, spreading across monitors, along with fill, fit and stretching the wallpaper.

In wawa, the image is loaded only for monitors that need it, and is immediately freed when all monitors have been configured; this keeps the memory usage of wawa extremely low (7x less than wbg, almost 24x less than swaybg), which may be a performance hit if you are constantly resizing the monitor.

i3lock-color is a simpler X11 screen locker derived from i3lock. Features include:

1. forking process, the locked screen is preserved when you suspend to RAM;

2. specify background color or image to be displayed in the lock screen;

3. many additional color options.

xclickroot runs a command every time a given mouse button is pressed on the root window.

Idesk is program that draws desktop icons. Each icon will execute a shell command on a configurable action. The icons can be moved on the desktop by dragging them, and the icons will remember their positions on start-up.

devour hides your current window before launching an external program and unhides it after quitting.

xmobar is a lightweight, text-based, status bar written in Haskell. It was originally designed to be used together with Xmonad, but it is also usable with any other window manager. While xmobar is written in Haskell, no knowledge of the language is required to install and use it.

This module implements org.freedesktop.Notifications interface[fn:dbus-spec]. It shows notifications using stumpwm:message by default.

Quickshell is a flexible QtQuick-based toolkit for creating and customizing toolbars, notification centers, and other desktop environment tools in a live programming environment.

Kanshi allows you to define output profiles that are automatically enabled and disabled on hotplug. Kanshi can be used with Wayland compositors supporting the wlr-output-management protocol.

Wlclock is a digital analog clock for Wayland desktops. wlclock is inspired by xclock and the default configuration has been chosen to mimic it. However unlike xclock, wlclock is not a regular window but a desktop-widget. A Wayland compositor must implement the Layer-Shell and XDG-Output for wlclock to work.
