The XCB util module provides a number of libraries which sit on top of libxcb, the core X protocol library, and some of the extension libraries. These experimental libraries provide convenience functions and interfaces which make the raw X protocol more usable. Some of the libraries also provide client-side code which is not strictly part of the X protocol but which has traditionally been provided by Xlib.

The XCB util-image module provides the following library:

- image: Port of Xlib's XImage and XShmImage functions.

This package provides the X color name database.

Xorg dec-misc font.

This package provides bdfresize, a command to magnify or reduce fonts in the Glyph Bitmap Distribution Format (BDF). It produces BDF output.

Xbacklight is used to adjust the backlight brightness where supported. It uses the RandR extension to find all outputs on the X server supporting backlight brightness control and changes them all in the same way.

- keysyms: Standard X key constants and conversion to/from keycodes.

xf86-video-voodoo is a Voodoo video driver for the Xorg X server.

Xmag displays and captures a magnified snapshot of a portion of an X11 screen.

Library for the XFixes Extension to the X11 protocol.

fonttosfnt wraps a set of bdf or pcf bitmap fonts in a sfnt (TrueType or OpenType) wrapper.

XRDB is used to get or set the contents of the RESOURCE_MANAGER property on the root window of screen 0, or the SCREEN_RESOURCES property on the root window of any or all screens, or everything combined. You would normally run this program from your X startup file.

libXtst provides the Xlib-based client API for the XTEST & RECORD extensions.

The XTEST extension is a minimal set of client and server extensions required to completely test the X11 server with no user intervention. This extension is not intended to support general journaling and playback of user actions.

The RECORD extension supports the recording and reporting of all core X protocol and arbitrary X extension protocol.

xf86-video-siliconmotion is a Silicon Motion video driver for the Xorg X server.

Xorg adobe-100dpi fonts.

XHost is used to manage the list of host names or user names allowed to make connections to the X server.

This package provides the Xorg X server itself. The X server accepts requests from client programs to create windows, which are (normally rectangular) 'virtual screens' that the client program can draw into.

Windows are then composed on the actual screen by the X server (or by a separate composite manager) as directed by the window manager, which usually communicates with the user via graphical controls such as buttons and draggable titlebars and borders.

xf86-video-SiS is a SiS video driver for the Xorg X server. This driver supports SiS chipsets of 300/315/330/340 series.

xwayland-run contains a set of small utilities revolving around running Xwayland and various Wayland compositor headless, namely:

• xwayland-run: Spawn X11 client within its own dedicated Xwayland rootful instance.

• wlheadless-run: Run Wayland client on a set of supported Wayland headless compositors.

• xwfb-run: Combination of above two tools to be used as a direct replacement for xvfb-run specifically.

xf86-input-libinput is an input driver for the Xorg X server based on libinput. It is a thin wrapper around libinput, so while it does provide all features that libinput supports it does little beyond.

Xdpyinfo is used to display information about an X server: the capabilities of a server, the predefined values for various parameters used in communicating between clients and the server, and the different types of screens, visuals, and X11 protocol extensions that are available.

Xcffib is a replacement for xpyb, an XCB Python bindings. It adds support for Python 3 and PyPy. It is based on cffi.

X11::Protocol is a client-side interface to the X11 Protocol, allowing perl programs to display windows and graphics on X11 servers.

xf86-video-intel is a 2D graphics driver for the Xorg X server. It supports a variety of Intel graphics chipsets.

X11Perf is a simple performance benchmarker for the Xorg X server.
