Proxychains-ng is a preloader which hooks calls to sockets in dynamically linked programs and redirects them through one or more SOCKS or HTTP proxies.

fping is a ping-like program which uses ICMP echo requests to determine if a target host is responding.

By making sane choices for defaults, Alacritty requires no additional setup. However, it does allow configuration of many aspects of the terminal. Note that you need support for OpenGL 3.2 or higher.

Kitty is a fast and featureful GPU-based terminal emulator:

• Offloads rendering to the GPU for lower system load and buttery smooth scrolling. Uses threaded rendering to minimize input latency.

• Supports all modern terminal features: graphics (images), unicode, true-color, OpenType ligatures, mouse protocol, focus tracking, bracketed paste and several new terminal protocol extensions.

• Supports tiling multiple terminal windows side by side in different layouts without needing to use an extra program like tmux.

wf-recorder is a utility program for screen recording of wlroots-based compositors. More specifically, those that support wlr-screencopy-v1 and xdg-output. This variant links FFmpeg 8 with NVIDIA NVENC support. Select an encoder with -c h264_nvenc, -c hevc_nvenc, or -c av1_nvenc; -d selects a VAAPI device, not an NVIDIA device. The running NVIDIA kernel driver must match this variant's userspace libraries.

yt-dlp is a small command-line program to download videos from YouTube.com and many more sites. It is a fork of youtube-dl with a focus on adding new features while keeping up-to-date with the original project.
