libXfont provides the core of the legacy X11 font system, handling the index files (fonts.dir, fonts.alias, fonts.scale), the various font file formats, and rasterizing them. It is used by the X servers, the X Font Server (xfs), and some font utilities (bdftopcf for instance), but should not be used by normal X11 clients. X11 clients access fonts via either the new API's in libXft, or the legacy API's in libX11.

This library provides weak aliases for pthread functions not provided in libc or otherwise available by default. Libraries like libxcb rely on pthread stubs to use pthreads optionally, becoming thread-safe when linked to libpthread, while avoiding any performance hit when running single-threaded.
Print Extension defines a protocol for a portable, network-transparent printing system.
Editres is a tool that allows users and application developers to view the full widget hierarchy of any X Toolkit application that speaks the Editres protocol. XCB-Proto provides the XML-XCB protocol descriptions that libxcb uses to generate the majority of its code and API. XCB-Proto is separated from libxcb to allow reuse by other projects, such as additional language bindings, protocol dissectors, or documentation generators.
XCB-Proto also contains language-independent Python libraries that are used to parse an XML description and create objects used by Python code generators in individual language bindings.
